It was reported that in the Dreamforce conference at Salesforce.com, Google CEO Eric Schmidt expressed the next version Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) would be released in October or November.
Schmidt stated: “we had a new operation system, called “Ice Cream Sandwich” by the insiders as some reasons. This system will be promoted in October or November. Every one is looking forward to its appearance”. This news attracted many people. Most outsiders regarded the rumored Samsung Nexus Prime and Droid Prime mobile phones with Bluetooth and WiFi certificate would install Ice Cream Sandwich OS.
So far, Google had not yet released the issue date of the Ice Cream Sandwich. But there was news that noted Verizon may promote Droid Prime in October, so perhaps Schmidt thought it was the time to announce. However, Android should not too happy as it is indicted in official data that the dispersive condition of Android still last, i.e. different mobile phones employ different systems. More than half of the Android users still use the Android 2.2 released in 2010.
Google firstly displayed its Ice Cream Sandwich at the Google I/0 Conference in May. This version is regarded as the one which can be used on both android smart phones and android tablet PC. At the conference, Schmidt told Google purchased Motorola not just for obtaining the patent.
